Keep On Dreaming: Sevyn's Story
Meet Sevyn through her proud mother's eyes
Sevyn is an eight-year-old with an old soul, a big personality, and the brightest smile. She is witty, kind, creative, adventurous, and completely comfortable dancing to the beat of her own drum.
A Compassionate Heart
She loves fashion—and will happily offer a styling suggestion whether you ask for one or not!—but what makes me proudest is her heart. If she notices someone looking sad, she is usually the first to ask, "Are you okay?" or "Do you need anything?" That mixture of confidence, compassion, and individuality is simply Sevyn.
Growing Interests
Her journey began with modeling and fashion, but as she has grown, so have her interests. Today she enjoys content creation, storytelling, and being in front of the camera. She dreams of exploring acting, becoming an on-camera personality, and building a space where she can tell stories in her own wonderfully animated way.
Professional Milestones
One of my proudest moments was watching her on a professional set in Chicago filming a commercial. Although the experience was new to her, she walked in with such confidence and professionalism that I found myself thinking, How did I become so blessed to be this little girl's mom?
A Mother's Dedication
Supporting her dreams has required sacrifices of my own. At a pivotal point in my life, I made the decision not to return to corporate America and instead dedicate my time to nurturing the possibilities I saw developing in Sevyn.
A Child First
But through every opportunity, one thing remains more important than any job, title, follower count, or accomplishment: she gets to be a child first. My job is not to decide her dream for her, but to give her the support, encouragement, and freedom to discover it for herself.
Advice to Mothers
That is also what I would tell another mother: believe in your child, protect their joy and values, and make sure the journey always remains about them.
Keep Your Head in the Clouds
"When I asked Sevyn what Cloud & Mist's phrase meant to her, she didn't hesitate: 'Keep on dreaming.' To me, it means much the same—keep having visions, dream bigger than what you can currently see, and never be afraid to fully express who you are."
The Ultimate Goal
That is exactly what I hope Sevyn continues to do: dream, create, explore, and become more and more of herself along the way.
THE Realization
And somewhere in the middle of helping her chase those dreams, I realized something about my own journey too: My greatest creation started with her.
